The Not-So-Sweet Truth

No matter how you look at it, sugar is sugar

Did you know that there is no such thing as a healthy sugar for your teeth?  Whether you snack on fruit salad or chocolate truffles, bacteria in your mouth combine with sugar to create acid.  And that acid attacks your teeth for at least 20 minutes after eating!  It makes no difference whether you eat organic honey, refined sugar, agave syrup, or fructose in fruit – to your teeth, sugar is sugar.

How can you protect your smile throughout your busy day when brushing is just not possible?  Rinse your mouth with water or chew a piece of sugarless gum after eating.

Remember to brush and floss when you get home!
